Obituary of Peter C Valestin
Peter C. Valestin, 68, passed away February 27 peacefully at home after a long battle with cancer.
Peter was born on June 5, 1955 in Orange, NJ to the late Charles and Barbara Valestin.
He was a graduate of Columbia High School in Maplewood. Peter was a lifetime resident of Maplewood working for the Township of Maplewood's Department of Public Works in a variety of positions until his move to his dream home in Harmony, NJ.
Peter was a past member of the Savoia Italian Club and South Orange Elks. Man of many hobbies he enjoyed golf, fishing and working his homestead. An avid gun collector loved having target practice. He had an amazing sense of humor and will be missed by everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his wife Patricia Valestin, daughter Wednesday Valestin and soon to be Son-In-Law Eric Doherty. Peter had a close and strong supportive family including his brother Paul, sister Peggy, their spouses Christine Valestin, Zachery Klemn as well as Sister-In-Law/Brother-In-Law Deborah and Antonio Hickel, Brother-In-Law Patrick McAuliffe. Peter enjoyed his role as Uncle to Liam McAuliffe, Emily McAuliffe, Jed Raines and Tony Hickel and grand-niece Madelyn Hickel. Along with his beloved pooch Donovan, Peter loved visits from the grand pets Pugsley the Guinea Pig, Freddie the pooch and PeeWee the pigeon.
