Obituary of Marilyn C Sherman

Marilyn C. Sherman, 90, of Washington, NJ passed away on October 1, 2019 at Overlook Hospital in Summit, NJ. Marilyn was born on February 8, 1929 in Newark, NJ to the late Gustave and Adelaide Dassing She was a graduate of Caldwell High School, and worked for Prudential in Newark and the Annin Flag Factory until she and the love of her life, Frederick, whom she married in 1953, started their family. The job that she loved, however, was as substitute mail carrier in Chester in the 1970's. Marilyn and Fred were devoted to each other during their 56 years of marriage until his passing in 2010. Marilyn enjoyed antiquing and just plain old bargain hunting, and was always in search of the latest find. She enjoyed decorating her home for each season and holiday, and was doing just that right to the end. As a member of the generation that knew what hard times were, she appreciated every little thing in life, and believed there was always something to be grateful for. Above all, she loved her children. She will be sadly missed. Marilyn is survived by her loving children, daughter Joanne Sherman and son Edward Sherman. In addition to her parents and husband Frederick, she is preceded in death by her sister Bernice Beluschak. In abiding with Marilyn's wishes, all services will be held privately.
