Obituary of Charles A Bruno

Charles A. Bruno, 90, passed away peacefully at home in Macungie, PA on August 23, 2018 surrounded by his family.

Charles was born in Irvington, NJ on November 24th, 1927 to the late Andrew and Margaret "Estelle" Bruno. Charles attended Rahway High School in Rahway New Jersey. He served proudly in the US Army during WWII. Charles moved to Asbury, NJ in 1972 and owned and operated Bruno's Restaurant in Asbury for more than 26 years. He enjoyed meeting new people, the Jersey shore life, including crabbing and boating.

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years Helen "Link" Bruno. A son, Kurt Bruno and his wife Tanh Tu Bruno. A brother, Andy Bruno. Sisters, Jennie Duley, Betty Poliak, Barbara Plonsky and Mary Wood. Four grandchildren, Rainie Campagna, Tabitha Bruno Nicholas Bruno and Jennifer Rose. He also had 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Charles was preceded in death by his sons, Chuck, Mark and daughter Debra and brothers, Billy Bruno and Jimmy Bruno and sister, Emily Johnstone.

Family and friends may pay their respects on Tuesday August 28, 2018 from 2:00–4:00 pm and 7:00-9:00 pm at the Warren Hills Memorial Home. 234 W. Washington Ave. Washington, NJ 07882.Funeral services will be celebrated on Wednesday August 29, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Washington.
