Obituary of Jean Davis

Jean A. Davis, 91, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 23, 2010 at Heath Village, Hackettstown, NJ. Born: Jean was born on June 5, 19 18 in Oxford, New Jersey, she was a daughter of the late William R. Chrisman and Anna May Park Chrisman. Personal: She resided in Washington most of her life. Holly, her cat, was her precious companion.Jean graduated from Washington High School. She was employed by Warren County through Warren Haven, where she served as Activities Director, retiring after 26 years. She was an avid seamstress, knitter, and crotchetier, and was proud of her collection of miniature sewing machines. In addition, she was involved with the arts, as she painted pictures and also was closely associated with Edna Palmer Engelhardt, a renowned local artist and painter. Memberships: Jean was a member of the Washington United Methodist Church. Survivors: Survivors include three nieces, Susan M. Damels, of Valrica, FL, Kerry D. Eyre, of El Segundo, CA, and Louise A. McKay of Fullerton, CA; four nephews, Walter W. Davis of FL, Ronald Snyder of AZ, Alvin E. Chrisman of FL, and Clinton B. Chrisman of Wallingford, CT; a great-niece, Dawn Martin, of CA; and a great-nephew, William Eyre, of WA. She was predeceased by two children, Wilbur Lee Davis and Harold Park Davis; three sisters, Stella F. Davis, Laura May Duckworth, and Mable E. Snyder; and her brother, William E. Chrisman.
