Obituary of Henry Zajac

Henry "Hank" Zajac Sr., 84, of Washington, NJ, died Thursday, May 8, 2008 at Warren Hospital, Phillipsburg, NJ. Born: In Bayonne, NJ, he was a son of the late Walter and Estelle Zajac. Personal: He and his wife, Mary, were married for 55 years. Hank lived in Glen Gardner, NJ, prior to moving to Washington, NJ, where he has resided for 50 years. He graduated from the Philadelphia Conservatory of Music with a BA and proudly served in the Navy Seabees during World War II. He served in both the European and Pacific Campaigns. Hank owned and operated Zajac Music Shop in Washington, NJ for 50 years. He also was a music teacher at Port Colden Elementary School. He was a gifted and talented musician and played the clarinet, saxophone, flute and guitar. Memberships: He was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Washington and also the American Legion Belvidere Post 131. Survivors: In addition to his loving wife Mary, he is survived by two sons, Henry Jr. and his wife Patricia of Oxford, NJ and Marc and his wife Terri of Easton; two grandchildren, Alissa and Victoria, and many nieces and nephews. Services: Visitation will be Monday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 W. Washington Avenue, Washington, NJ 07882. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 12 p.m. in the church, 200 Carlton Avenue, Washington, NJ 07882, with Fr. Blaise Baran officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Washington.
