Obituary of Kenneth Zimmerman

Kenneth F. Zimmerman, 66 of White Twp. passed away peacefully on Wednesday January 15, 2014 at St. Luke's hospital in Phillipsburg, NJ. Born: Ken was born on March 28, 1947 in Somerville, NJ to the late Adam and Thelma Zimmerman. Personal: Ken grew up in Green Brook, NJ and later lived in Glen Gardner before moving to White Twp 32 years ago. He graduated from Dunellen high school class of 1966. He served proudly in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Ken married the love of his life Christine in 1970. Ken worked as a carpenter for HAHR Construction in North Plainfield, NJ. He was also self employed as a contractor. He loved fly fishing and enjoyed tying his own flies. He also enjoyed skiing and scuba diving. Ken was a diehard NY Giants fan. Above all he cherished time spent with his family especially his grandchildren. Memberships: Ken was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Washington. He was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus St Joseph Council 5170. He served as an Usher, he was a member of the couples's club and grounds committee, He taught RCIA and he also volunteered his time for Bingo. Ken was a past member of the American Legion. Survivors: His loving wife of 44 years Christine; A son Christopher Zimmerman; A brother Bruce Zimmerman; Two sisters Elizabeth Perez and Jeanne Swarin; Three grandchildren Shannon, Michael and Jacob and many nieces and nephews. Services: Friends and family may call on Sunday January 19, 2014 from 3-7 PM at the Warren Hills Memorial Home 234. W. Washington Ave, Washington, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday January 20, 2014 at 10:00 AM, with Fr. Blaise Baran officiating at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 200 Carlton Ave, Washington, NJ. 07882.
