Obituary of Daniel Wyckoff
Daniel M. Wyckoff Sr. 94 of Washington Twp. passed away peacefully at home on Friday, January 17, 2014.
Born: Daniel was a lifelong resident of Washington. He was born on March 24, 1919 in the family home on West Warren Street to the late Roy and Esther Wyckoff.
Personal: Daniel graduated from Washington High School, class of 1938, where he played basketball. Daniel married the love of his life Dorothy M. "Paul" Wyckoff in 1942. They had celebrated 60 years of marriage until Dorothy's death in 2003. He worked as an Industrial Salesmen for W.A. Tydeman, Westinghouse Electric Supply and Allen Electric and later retired in 1984 after many years with Sears & Roebuck. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and taking care of his lawn. He could often be found taking walks at Meadow Breeze Park. Daniel was a huge fan of the Warren Hills High School basketball and football athletic programs. He also enjoyed socializing with family and friends at Panera Bread, Dunkin' Donuts and Quick Chek. Daniel loved his children and grandchildren. His family was his universe.
Memberships: Daniel was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Washington. He was a past Master of the Mansfield Masonic Lodge No. 36. He was also instrumental in adopting the property tax reimbursement for seniors program.
Survivors: He is survived by his loving children: a son Daniel M. Wyckoff Jr. of Washington; a daughter Patricia Pace of Washington, and two grandchildren Eric Pace and Jennifer Pace. In addition to his wife Dorothy, he is predeceased by two brothers Roy Wyckoff and Charles Wyckoff.
Services:Due to inclement weather, today's calling hours (7-9 PM) for Daniel Wyckoff Sr have been canceled. Friends and family may call on Wednesday January 22, 2014 from 9:00 -11:00 AM, Funeral services and Masonic services will be celebrated at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Burial will follow at Washington Cemetery.
Memorials: Donations may be made in Daniel's name to the Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center, 9100 Wescott Drive, Suite 202 Flemington, NJ 08822. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Warren Hills Memorial Home.
