Obituary of Robert August Treitler
Robert "Bob/Dede" August Treitler, Sr., 83, of White Township, passed away peacefully September 12, 2010 at Good Shepherd Specialty hospital in Bethlehem, PA. Born: November 30, 1926 in Queens, NY, he was a son of the late August and Mary Treitler.
Personal: He resided for 12 years in White Township, formerly of Washington, NJ. Bob was co-owner and president of Treitler-Owens in Washington. Earlier in his life he was a commercial airline pilot. He retired in 1988. Bob graduated from the Academy of Aeronautics in NY. Bob served proudly in the Army Air Corps during World War II. His many hobbies included, flying privately owned airplanes, flying radio controlled planes, electric trains, golf, piano/organ playing, travel reading, his 1938 Chevy and time spent with family and friends. Memberships: He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Washington. Bob was a life member of the American Legion Post 103 NJ. He was a member of the NJ Jumbo Flyers, and Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. Survivors: his wife of 12 years Mary Lynn; a son, Robert A. Treitler, Jr. of Georgia; two daughters, Linda Treitler and Wendy Luckey and her husband Thomas, all of Washington; a step-son, Justin Baldwin and his wife Rachel of Hope, NJ; a step-daughter, Melanie Baldwin-Kuhl and her husband Hagen of Colorado; six grandchildren, Kelsey, Brianna, Geoffrey, Kylee, Mark and Luke. He was predeceased by his 1st wife of 46 years Mary Jane Treitler and a sister Eleanor Carta.
Services: Church services will be Thursday, September 16, 2010 at 10 a.m. with Pastor James Scovell officiating at the First Presbyterian Church, 40 Church St., Washington, NJ 07882. Burial in the Pequest Union Cemetery in Great Meadows. Viewing will be Wednesday, September 15, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 West Washington Ave., Washington, NJ.
