Obituary of Eleanor W. Supplee
Eleanor W. Supplee, 93, a lifelong resident of the Washington and Hampton, NJ area, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Tuesday, April 2, 2008.
Born: On June 13, 1914, in Washington, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Elmer and Blanche Wyckoff.
Personal: Her loving husband, Henderson, died in 1994.
Eleanor was a 2nd grade school teacher with Hampton Elementary School. She graduated from Washington High School, Class of 1932 and received multiple degrees from Douglas College and the State College of New Jersey. She was an avid golfer and enjoyed reading.
Memberships: Eleanor was the oldest active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Washington. She was a member of the Presbyterian Women's Association, the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Peggy Warne Chapter, the New Jersey Retired Teacher's Association, and was a member of the Harkers Hollow Golf Club for many years.
Survivors: She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Milly C. Supplee of Washington Township; two grandchildren, Richard Wyckoff Supplee and his wife Jamie of Point Pleasant and Michelle J. Reda and her husband Christopher of Middletown, and four great-grandchildren, Kathryn, Morgan, Sadie and Kristen. Two sons, Henderson II and Richard W., died earlier.
Services: Visitation will be Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 West Washington Avenue, Washington, NJ 07882. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. with Pastor James Scovell officiating at the church, 40 East Church Street, Washington, NJ. Burial will be in Musconetcong Valley Cemetery, Hampton, NJ. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Warren Hills Memorial Home, Washington, NJ.
