Obituary of Valda M. Byrne

Valda M. Byrne, 78, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 1, 2010 at Brakeley Park Care Center . Born: March 31, 19 32 in Plainfield, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Anselmo and Johanna Appolloni. Personal: She was a resident of White Township, and previously lived in Hampton and Basking Ridge, NJ. Valda worked as an Administrative Assistant for John's Manville and Ciba-Geigy. She graduated from North Plainfield High School , class of 1950. She was a loyal NY Yankee fan, and enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports. Memberships: She was active in the Somerset County 4-H Equestrians and a member of Sweet Adeline from Plainfield . Survivors: Her loving children, a daughter, Colleen Mattei and her husband Lawrence of Washington; two sons, William V. Byrne and his wife Kathryn of Washington, James F. Byrne and his wife Ann Marie of Hampton; two sisters, Johanna DelDuca of Toms River, NJ, Norma Healy of Easton; six grandchildren, Robert, Katie, Joseph, Kellie, Abigail and Joelle. She was predeceased by her loving husband Robert D. Byrne, and her son Robert P. Byrne in 2005. Services: A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 14, 2010 at 11 a.m. in Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 W. Washington St. , Washington .
