Obituary of George McGrath
George McGrath III, 52, of Phillipsburg, N.J., died peacefully on Sept. 22, 2010, surrounded by his family. A memorial service will take place at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 3, 2010, at Warinanco Park, St. Georges Avenue and Park Avenue, Roselle, N.J. Guests are requested to wear 'island casual' attire. Arrangements are entrusted to Warren Hills Memorial Home, Washington, N.J. To leave an online condolence, visit George grew up in Cranford, N.J., and had also lived in Basking Ridge, N.J. He was a fireman for Cranford Township for 24 years, retiring in 2008. He was also a fire inspector for Princeton, Mountainside and Washington Township. He was a firefighter and a dedicated responder to 9-11. George enjoyed his life of community service and loved golf, off-roading and especially his dog, Major. Surviving are his son, George "Dusty" McGrath IV of Woodbridge, Va.; his mother, Margaret McGrath of Pinehurst, N.C., and his sister, Nancy O'Neal of Los Altos Hills, Calif.
