Obituary of LeRoy D. LeBar
LeRoy "Lee" LeBar, 81, of Washington Township, passed away peacefully at Easton Hospital on September 13, 2010.
Born: June 13, 19 29 in Hainesburg, NJ, he was a son of the late Floyd and Alberta LeBar.
Personal: He resided in Washington Township for the past six years, he previously lived in Belvidere, NJ.
Lee worked for Hoffman-La Roche for many years, later in life he owned and operated Jenny Jump Knolls Landscaping.
Lee served proudly in the Army during the Korean War. He was awarded the Distinguished Military Service Medal, Bronze Star and a Purple Heart for his actions and was a POW during the war.
Lee and his wife Margaret served as foster parents for many years. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting. Everyone knew Lee for his smokehouse and his delicious smoked meats.
Memberships: Lee was a life member of the American Legion Post 131 in Belvidere, he was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans, a member of the VFW Post 5119 in Glen Gardner.
Survivors: His loving wife of 55 years, Margaret; a son, David Lance of FL; two daughters, Christine Abbott of Easton, Judy LeBar-Malcolm and her husband Robert of Stewartsville; a sister, Cindy Tims and her husband John of Belvidere; a niece, Vicky; and a nephew, Marvin; and Aunt Cora Latourette of Great Meadows; five grandchildren, Joshua, Nicole, Ashley, Kevin and Dylan.
Services: Visitation will be Sunday, September 19, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 West Washington Ave., Washington, NJ 07882. Funeral services will be Monday, September 20, 2010 at 10 a.m. with Pastor James Scovell officiating, at the funeral home. Burial in the Northampton Memorial Shrine, Easton, PA.
