Obituary of Carl L. Kosek

Carl L. Kosek, Sr., 78, of White Township, Belvidere, NJ died Friday, September 21, 2007 in Warren Haven, Oxford, NJ. Born: October 29, 1928 in Edwardsville, Pa., he was a son of the late Joseph and Catherine Dull Kosek. Personal: He and his wife, the former Olga Lukacz, were married 55 years. Carl was a machinist. He retired in 1987 from Ingersoll-Rand, Phillipsburg after 35 years of employment. He also worked for Blue Ribbon Bakery, Kingston, Pa., Luken Steel, Coatsville, Pa., Riegel Paper Mill, Milford, NJ, Bergen Tool, Hackettstown, NJ and bartended in Belvidere. Carl attended Edwardsville High School; Williamsport Technical Institute, Williamsport, Pa., Bell Appliance, Wilkes-Barre, Pa., and Warren Technical School, Washington, NJ. He served in the Marines on the USS LST. Carl enjoyed gardening, football and especially spending time with his grandchildren. He will also be remembered for his ability to repair cars and projects around the home. Memberships: He was a member of St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, Belvidere; and a lifetime member of the Marine Corp League-Northampton. Survivors: In addition to his wife Olga; three sons, Carl L. Jr., of Burlingame, Calif., Joseph H. and his wife Kathleen of Bangor, and Thomas P. of Oxford, NJ; three daughters, Catherine P. and her husband Frank Lindner of Orlando, Fla., Linda M. and her husband Tim Headrick , and Mary T. and her husband John Wilkes, all of Texarkana, Ark.; two sisters, Josephine Lane of Edwardsville and Stella Gorecki of Toms River, Pa; 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by brothers, Edward and Joseph; and sisters, Wanda, Nellie and Jessie. Services: Visitation will be held 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in the Warren Hills/Ford Memorial Home, 234 West Washington Ave., Washington, NJ. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, 327 Greenwich St., Belvidere. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Warren Hills/Ford Memorial Home.
