My condolences to the Groves and Thompson family. Miss Alice was EVERYONE’s grandma! Loved seeing her “fly” through the streets in whatever vehicle she was driving. Genuinely a GOOD hearted person, consistent, trustworthy, faithful, devoted, “word is bond”, LOVING, and accountable. She would do ALL she could and still not give up. The mold was broken. The until we meet in heaven - rest in peace.

Alice was a dear friend of my Mother, Etta Alleger. They worked together at American Can. My mom didn’t drive so Alice would pick her up and drive to work together. We spoke of their time together at a WHS reunion. Such a sweet and gracious lady. May she rest in peace.

There was not another woman like Alice.She used to come to my Aunt Minnie when my mom and I were there with her Avon.We had a great.visit and laugh! I’m glad she lived a great and long life!She will be missed. The town of Washington will not be the same without her. Alice I will miss you! RIP Alice! Love you ❤️

Alice was a bright light in the world. I made her cake for her 90th birthday and I remember being so honored to do it. I always enjoyed the rare chances I saw her. She was always such a joy to be around and she will truely be missed.

Alice was a beautiful woman, very kind and loving. I remember her Avon days, she worked with my dad at American can. Always had a few minutes to talk to us (kids) at the time. Another angel that will shine up above.

DAVID and BECKY LANCE: we will be out of town this weekend and Sadly will miss the viewing for Alice but want her entire family to know that our thoughts and prayers are with every one of you. Alice was one of the sweetest individuals you would ever know. Going to school and wrestling with Raymond “Hip” Thompson I had the pleasure of really getting to know this amazing lady. Very sweet and generous and always had a beautiful smile on her face. She will be terribly missed by those who knew her and her great ability to sell her Avon!! Heaven has gained another beautiful Angel!! Rest in peace dear Alice!! We Love You!!

I met Alice at the AME church when she was in her early 90's. We have had a relationship with the her and the church from our synagogue since then, and have grown to know and love Alice. My favorite memory of her will always be her giving the announcements at the church. Rest in peace Alice, and thank you for showing us what a well lived life looks like.
