Obituary of Matthew "Corey" Miller

Matthew "Corey" Miller, 51, passed away unexpectedly at his home on February 11, 2024. Corey was born on May 26, 1972 in Phillipsburg, NJ to Frederick J. Miller Jr. and Sharon Carey. Corey was a lifelong resident of the Washington, NJ area. He graduated from Warren Hills High School class of 1990 where he was a standout wrestler and fan favorite thanks to his unorthodox style and flair. Corey was a 3-time NJ state place winner in his three years competing for the Blue Streaks and reached the state finals in his senior year. Post high school, Corey worked hard becoming a talented arborist and Certified Tree Expert. Early in his career he competed in International Society of Arborculture events and later had the honor of pruning the trees at Arlington National Cemetery. He enjoyed NASCAR, his favorite driver was Rusty Wallace, and rooted for the Yankees and against Boston, and spent every minute he could on his motorcycle. Corey had two true loves in his life: his family and his chihuahua, Molly. In addition to his parents, Corey is survived by his children, Chloe Miller, Miranda Miller, and Payton Miller; stepchildren Cody O'Rourke and Ashley O'Rourke; a granddaughter Victoria Hlatky; his siblings, Stephanie Miller and Mark Miller; his stepmother Rose Marie Miller; and stepsiblings Jeff, Paul, John, Tommy & Bobby Berezny, and Robyn Gardella. He was preceded in death by his stepfather A. Victor Keen. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Monday, February 19, 2024, with visitation from 1-5 PM at the Faith Discovery Church. 33 Brass Castle Rd. Washington, NJ 07882. A funeral service celebrating Corey's life will begin at 5:00 PM on Monday at the church. Cremation will be held privately. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Warren Hills Memorial Home.
