Obituary of Elizabeth Methfessel

Elizabeth Methfessel, 92, formerly of the Brookfield section of Belvidere, NJ passed away peacefully on January 19, 2024 in Seminole, FL. Elizabeth was born on November 27, 1931 in Staten Island, NY to the late George and Rose "Irons" McBride. She grew up in Staten Island and graduated from St. Peter's High School class of 1949. Elizabeth married her soulmate Edmund Methfessel Sr. in 1953 and became a homemaker. They enjoyed 64 years of marriage until Edmunds death in 2017. She enjoyed volunteering her time at local hospitals to help others. Elizabeth delivered Meals on Wheels locally in Warren County. She was also a parishioner at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Belvidere where she served as a daily communicant. Elizabeth is survived by her children, Edmund Methfessel Jr. (Geraldine) and Susan Lazorisak; 3 grandchildren, Ryan, Emily and Jake and a son-law Rick Potter. In addition to her husband, Elizabeth was preceded in death by a daughter Diane Potter and her siblings, Robert, George and Jack McBride. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday February 12, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church. 327 Greenwich St. Belvidere, NJ 07823.
