Obituary of Vida M. Barzdines
Vida M. Barzdines, 89, of Washington Twp., passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on April 1, 2013.
Born: Vida was born June 1, 19 23 in Forest City, PA, a daughter of the late Gregory and Frances Planinshek.
Personal: She resided in Washington Twp. for 15 years, and previously lived in Manville and Branchburg, NJ and Browndale, PA.
Vida worked as an Assistant Division Manager for the Sears & Roebuck Co. Earlier in her life she worked for the Pentagon during World War II.
She graduated from Forest City high school class of 1941.
Vida was a World War II buff, she enjoyed big band and classical music and sewing. She most loved her grandchildren, who were active in her life and who helped care for her in the final years of her life.
The family would like to thank and acknowledge the compassion and the gentleness of the hospice nurses that cared for Vida.
Memberships: She was a member of St. Theodore Catholic Church in Port Murray and was an active in the Branchburg Senior Club.
Survivors: Vida is survived by two daughters, Janine Barzdines and her husband Greg Hiserodt, Lynn Barzdines; a brother, Paul Planinchek; two grandchildren, Thomas and Emily Hiserodt; and many nephews and nieces.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Anthony, who passed away in 1995; four brothers, John, Frank, Cyril and Gregory Planinchek; three sisters, Frances Cooper, Anne Pauly and Mary Franceski; and one grandson, Gregory Hiserodt.
Services: Visitation will be held, Thursday April 4, 2013, from 2 to 4:00 p.m., and 6 to 8:00 p.m., at Warren Hills Memorial Home. 234. W. Washington, Ave. Washington, NJ 07882.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held, Friday April 5, 2013 , 10:30 a.m., St. Theodore Catholic Church, 855 State Hwy Route 57, Port Murray, NJ 08865, celebrated with Fr. Zenon Bozcek officiating.
Entombment will be at Resurrection Cemetery, Piscataway, NJ.
