Obituary of Sharon L Haney
Sharon L. Haney, 71, passed away unexpectedly on August 29, 2023, at St. Luke's Anderson Campus surrounded by her loved ones.
Sharon was born on July 22, 1952, in Phillipsburg, NJ to the late Earl and Kathryn "Hockenbury" Haney. She graduated from Warren Hills High School class of 1968. Over the years Sharon resided in Hackettstown, Hope, Oxford, and Belvidere before settling down in Harmony Township with her Neice Tabatha in March 2022. She was employed as a LPN at Mt Kipp and Hunterdon Developmental Center before changing careers and becoming a coater at M&M Mars in Hackettstown. She then became the Customer Service Representative at the Division of Fish Game and Wildlife at the Pequest Hatchery until retirement in 2017. Sharon enjoyed her trips to the casino and playing bingo, reading, and enjoying time with her family especially her cousins whom she considered her grandchildren.
Sharon is survived by her siblings Barry Haney and his wife Gerri, Gordon Haney and his wife Lenora, Kevin Haney and his wife Donna and Robin Encke and her cousin Kathryn Hockenbury whom she considered her daughter several nieces and nephews Nikita Quick, Katey Hockenbury, Tabatha Johnson, Michael Johnson, Barry Haney, Michael Haney, Jessica Haney, Eric Encke, Stephen Encke and Heather Encke. The children she considered her great grandchildren include Aiden, Keaton, Kinsley, Kalena, Addalynn, Emylia, Sharon had severval great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents Sharon was preceded in death by her sister, Laura Haney and a niece Christina Haney.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Friday September 8, 2023 from 10 AM – 12 PM at the Warren Hills Memorial Home. 234 W. Washington Ave. Washington, NJ 07882. A Memorial Service celebrating Sharon's life will begin at 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Inurnment will follow at the Cokesbury United Methodist Church Cemetery in Lebanon Township.
