Obituary of Barbara R. "Fowler" Schaare

Barbara Rosemary "Fowler" Schaare, 94, formerly of Washington, NJ passed away peacefully on August 18, 2023 at the Warren Haven Nursing Home. Barbara was born on April 10, 1929 in Easton PA to the late Bertram and Martha "Krauldat" Fowler Sr. She graduated from Hampton High School class of 1948 where she was a cheerleader. She married her soulmate Albert F. Schaare in 1956. They were married for 66 years until Albert's death in 2022. Earlier in life Barbara worked for Laubach's in Easton and later as a Nurse's Aide for the Visiting Home Makers. She was also a Tupperware Representative serving Hunterdon, Warren and Northampton Counties. Barbara was also a parishioner of the United Methodist Church in Washington, where she was a member of the Eastern Star. She loved all animals especially dogs and horses. Barbara was quite the equestrian. She owned and operated a stable she also loved riding and going to horse shows. She enjoyed making ceramics and she would often give her works of art to family members as gifts. Barbara was also an avid reader. She loved her family and cherished time spent with them especially her grandchildren. Barbara is survived by her daughters, Valerie Hudock and Deborah Rutan and her husband Robert K.; 6 grandchildren, Oliver Hudock, James Hudock Jr., Elizabeth Hudock, Jacob Hudock, Allen Rutan and Shannon Riccio and her husband Michael and a great granddaughter Olivia Hudock. In addition to her parents and her husband Albert, Barbara was preceded in death by a sister Shirley, a brother Bertram Fowler Jr. and a cousin Jean Bois. Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday August 24, 2023 from 2-3 PM at the Warren Hills Memorial Home. 234 W. Washington Ave. Washington, NJ 07882. A funeral service celebrating Barbara's life will begin at 3:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Bloomsbury Cemetery.
