I’ve never had a friendship like I had with Steve. There was never a time when I wasn’t happy with him and there was never any heaviness to it. If I saw him every day, or every year it was always the same, “what’s up buck” and a hug.
When I had my children I used to pray they were as close as Steve and Beans and the rest of the family.
I hurt for the memories he would have made for everyone that will be missed. I hurt for Chris because I know how much they cared about each other. I love the Trudel’s and the selfish happiness they have gave me my entire life and I’m sorry for your pain.

I would like to send my condolences to the family, wife and friends. Everybody that knew Steven, knew that he was filled with some much life, and he had the ability to share it with others. His smile, laughter and his joking mannerism made all of those late-night poker games, so much easier walking out wondering if I had enough lunch money for the following day. Steven my brother, thank you for your friendship, loyalty and your smile over the years. A true man that will surely be missed.

I met Steve freshman year in computer class. We sat next to each other and found out that we both spelled our names with a PH and that we both loved the Mets. And 86’ was a good year! It was always laughter and good times with Stevie, from being a part of the squirrel pack to partying and playing cards at 34 Mark dr. and the bar on the back deck. He was a best shortstop in softball. His knowledge for the game and sports in general was incredible. My deepest condolences to the whole family. Rest in peace my brother you will truly be missed

RIP my brother Steve. You will be missed so much by myself, your many friends, and all of your family.
I have so many great memories with you on Musconetcong River Road (thanks for putting up with us Mr & Mrs T :)), in High School, and going down to AC (with Chris and Keith) for NJ HS wrestling states all those years. You also always kicked my ass on the golf course because of your superior hand eye coordination and athletic ability which is second to none.
I love you and will miss you so much!

Steve fell into our circle of friends the day he arrived at Valley View school in 3rd grade (if I remember correctly) in Mr. Parks class. His competitive nature was on display during those early “silent ball” matches we used to have in that classroom. I spent the next 15 or so years playing little league, swimming, partying, going to concerts, hunting and more with the guy. We had more laughs than I can recall and more fun than maybe we deserved. He was one of my closest friends. I wish we had not lost touch over the years. I send my love to Mr & Mrs. Trudel as well as the rest of the Trudels. I miss you guys!

I became good friends with Steve in the 3rd or 4th grade, we have a great group of friends and still do to this day. We had a lot of very memorable times that I’m now continually thinking about and I’m reliving all those very fun times. We lost touch in our late twenties due to job/career relocations, but each time we met up we just picked up from the last time we spoke. He was a very loyal friend and he looked after his friends. He was just a really good person and I’m glad and proud to call him my friend. Stevie will be greatly missed.

We lost a great guy when Steve passed away… he was very loyal friend who truly cared about and loved the people that were close to him… he was our captain on and off the field… if there is a Wiffle ball game being played in heaven I can assure you he will be playing short… batting lead off…and picking up his teammates…We love you and we will miss you!… our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family….Samantha and George Armstrong

Steve, Chris and all the Trudels were a huge part of my life over the years. I have so many great memories of times spent at the shore, sporting events or just hanging out on the Trudel's deck. Hearing of Steve's passing is devastating. Anyone lucky enough to know Steve will tell you that time spent with him meant a good time. He was such a great guy and will be missed. RIP Steve, and my condolences to his entire family.
