We were sad to hear of the passing of Ron. Our children have fond memories of fishing with him. He was always kind to us. Good memories. Our sincere sympathy to the family.
With love from Christine and David Keller and family

I'l like to thank Pete for notifying me on Ron's passing. Ron and I met back in Oct .1974 when the USS Nitro was in Yorktown, VA at the Naval Weapon's Station. We have kept in contract on and off over the years. Since we both loss our mates in past years, Barbara in 2013 and my Joe in 2018, Ron and reconnected in Jan 2022. .We have been talking and texting monthly ever since and I will miss his calls, texting and the pictures he sent of his family when they visited him at his condo and his love, Cleo. I know he is now at peace and in no pain but he will be miss by all. Love, KW

Some photos I thought others would appreciate. From his early childhood, entering the Navy, and of course I had to add some fishing pics!

Uncle Ron. So many stories I could share. He was a hero to my brother Brian and I, a real-life action figure, living a life of adventure and traveling the world. He’d show up with a smirk on his face that always made you smile. As boys he’d welcome our attacks and wrestling as soon as he’d get out of his car. He’d tell us, let me show you that move I put on Charlie (meaning VC), and would quickly have us thrown to the ground. When we were kids, Uncle Ron ALWAYS made time for us when he wasn’t stationed in some faraway place around the world. I remember calling him after learning he was home and asking, “When are we going fishing again?” He said let me see what I can do. Six hours later he pulled in the driveway after the long drive from upper NY state. A half hour later, we’re at the lake catching bass and laughing uncontrollably over one of his many stories. As a kid, him making time for us meant a lot. As an adult, we’d talk about life’s challenges we each had encountered. It seemed the conversations always came back to fishing or Vietnam. Uncle Ron had a way of compartmentalizing life’s challenges, putting them on a shelf, and looking forward in a positive light. We had some deep conversations over the last few years, but his love for family was always his foundation. He never shied away from telling me he loved me and parting with a hug. A hero, friend, confidant, smart ass, and loving Uncle. That was my Uncle Ron.
