Obituary of Elaine M McGuire

Elaine M. (Borges) McGuire, 73, of Washington, NJ passed away on June 26, 2023 at St. Luke's Warren hospital. Elaine was born on October 26, 1949 in Newark, NJ to the late Manuel and Carmen (Pulido) Borges. She graduated from Roselle Park High School class of 1967. She went on to earn a Spanish degree in education from Montclair University. Elaine was employed as a Spanish teacher for Abraham Clark High School, Roselle N.J., Belvidere High School, Belvidere N.J., Greenwich Elementary School, Stewartsville, N.J., and later St. Mary's Catholic School in Hackettstown, N.J. Her teaching career spans more than 40 years until her retirement in 2013. Her loving husband, Edward McGuire, passed away in 2009. Elaine enjoyed spending time with all family members, preparing food, walking, and learning about & helping her loved ones with all her spare time. Elaine is survived by her sons, Brian E. McGuire, Kevin E. McGuire & his wife Erin, and Daniel E. McGuire; her sisters, Eileen Adams and Barbara Szoc; a brother, Manuel Borges; 3 grandchildren Carly Johnston, Dillan McGuire and Nathan McGuire. Elaine will be laid to rest beside her husband Edward at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Cemetery. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Warren Hills Memorial Home.
