Obituary of Helen J. Perry
Helen J. Perry, 94, of Lebanon Township, NJ passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 9, 2023 at home with her loving son by her side.
Helen was born on July 7, 1928 in Manhattan, NY to the late Hermann and Helene Heiligenstein. When she was three years old, her family returned to Tanna, Germany where she completed her schooling and lived through World War II as a displaced American. In 1948 she was able to return to New York.
For many years she was an administrative assistant first for Eastman Kodak, then Church World Service, and lastly Newton Hospital. In the late 1950’s she worked part time at a dude ranch in Sussex County, NJ, this is where she met her husband Warren and they were married in May of 1960. After she was married she took on the role of homemaker and later mother. She was a member of the Spruce Run Lutheran Church in Glen Gardner, NJ; an avid gardener; and loved to cross stitch, knit and do needlework of all types.
Helen was the loving wife of the late Warren B. Perry also of Lebanon Township, NJ. She leaves her beloved family: son James W. Perry, his wife Dawn, their children Daniel and his wife Madison, and Nathaniel all of Weyers Cave, VA; son the late Frederick S. Perry, his wife Kelly, their children Eric and Alison all of Somerset, MA.
A memorial service will be held on May 20, 2023 at 2:00 pm in the Spruce Run Lutheran Church, Hill Road, Glen Gardner, NJ.
A time of repast will follow the service.
A private burial with family will follow.
