Obituary of Kenneth B Favino
Kenneth B. Favino, 77 of Mansfield Township passed away peacefully at home on March 4, 2023, with his loving family by his side.
Ken was born on September 26, 1945 in Passaic, NJ to the late Victor and Frances "Quaglia" Favino. Ken grew up in Towaco, NJ before moving to Oxford and then Mansfield, NJ. He graduated from Boonton High School class of 1963. Ken proudly served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War and enjoyed sharing stories about his experiences overseas. Ken had a successful career with UPS for 30 years and then Suburban Propane for another 20 years. He was a member of the Washington Rotary Club and the VFW Post 10259.
Ken, affectionately known as "Puff" and "Grandpa", was a long time avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing and hunting. Once retired, he enjoyed golfing and annual trips "out west" with his wife Judy, to visit many of the National Parks and maybe a few casinos too! Puff was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who always has a selfless characteristic about him to put others before himself. He was wise in his discussions with his children and grandchildren often pointing out alternatives, different vantage points, and was a great listener. He enjoyed and was committed to spending time with his family and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Puff was also an expert at "one liners" and had a wit about him that will be dearly missed. Even as his health was declining, he kept his sense of humor and was truly interested in how everyone else was and did not focus on his own predicament. We know Kenny is in a better place now and the love he has instilled in those around him will carry on for generations to come.
Ken is survived by his cherished wife of 28 years, Judy; his son Shawn Favino and wife Dawn; his daughter Christina Haines; stepdaughters Stacey Lacey (husband Sean) and Wendy Guiles (Michael). He also leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 3 great- grandchildren; sisters Carol Gerisch and Maureen Pawelko, and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Friday, March 10, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 West Washington Ave., Washington, NJ 07882. A service celebrating Ken's life will be held at 12:00 PM in the funeral home.
