Sandra was a generous neighbor and friend. One of my first friends in Belvidere, she welcomed us and our motley crew of 5 rowdy little boys with love, kindness, and enthusiasm. When we got our puppy (my first ever dog!), she showed me the best ways to train him and always had a treat in her pocket and a smile for Chewbacca. I will miss her friendly “Hey girl” as we both worked or hung around the yard, and her uplifting way of supporting and encouraging me during our talks when I was losing my mind over something my kids or dog had done. She had a calm way about her and eagerly shared advice AND plant cuttings. Sandra answered every question I had about gardening, new as I (still) am to it. Finally, she was wonderful at bringing people together and getting other people to join in and show up. It was a gift. I’ll remember her easy friendship always with gratitude.

My deepest condolences, Mike and family. Sandra will be incredibly missed. Our only comfort in life and in death is that we are not our own but belong, body and soul, to our faithful Savior Jesus Christ. Praying for you all as you grieve.
