Obituary of Elaine A Stachew

Elaine A. Stachew, 73, of New York City passed away peacefully in Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx on April 11, 2022. Elaine was born in New York on July 18, 1948 to the late Peter and Anna “Kowal” Stachew. She grew up in New York and graduated from Washington Irving High School class of 1966. She went on to earn her Bachelor’s degree from Hunter College and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Fordham University. Elaine was employed as a social worker for the State of New York for many years until her retirement. She was the event organizer for the Village View Community Center. Elaine was a kind soul who enjoyed helping others. She also enjoyed spending her summers in Oxford NJ with her family at their family home. Elaine is survived by cousins, Mary Ann Ball (Frank), Eileen Kowalick, Kathy Yost (Mark), Michael Priolo and Kristen Biechy (Harold). Viewing will be on Saturday, April 23, 2022 from11:00 -11:45 AM at the Warren Hills Memorial Home. 234 W. Washington Ave. Washington, NJ 07882 followed by Graveside service at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Oxford, NJ at 12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Elaine’s name to a charity of one’s choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Warren Hills Memorial Home.
