Obituary of Irene Sanocki
Irene Sanocki, 69, of Washington, NJ and previously of Branchburg, NJ passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 21, 2022 at Morristown Medical Center with loved ones by her side.
Irene was born on October 28, 1952 in Plainfield, NJ to Helen Olkowski Iwanowski and the late Joseph Iwanowski.
She was a graduate of Plainfield High School class of 1971 and worked as a Deputy Court Administrator for the Plainfield Municipal Court prior to becoming a mother. Irene was a member of the Branchburg Women's Club and after moving to Washington, NJ in 2008 she became an active parishioner of St. Theodore's Roman Catholic Church. Irene was a devoted wife and doting daughter, sister, mother, Babcia and friend to all she knew. She loved gardening, crafting, ceramic work, creative baking, polka music and volunteering her time to friends and loved ones. In her younger years, she danced many polkas with The Polish Falcons Association. Most of all, she enjoyed the time she spent with her family, especially her six grandchildren.
Irene is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Joseph and her cherished mother, Helen Iwanowski who will be 99 years old this spring. She also leaves behind her beloved children; Jennifer Kerr and her husband Nathan; Anne-Marie Sanocki; Brian Sanocki and his wife Kaitlyn, and her precious grandchildren; Parker, Callie, Lexie, Jaxson, Cole and Myles Sanocki. She is also survived by her sisters; Barbara D'Ovidio and her husband Frank; Alice Engelke and her husband Hal; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She is preceded in death by her father, Joseph Iwanowski and infant sister Mary Iwanowski.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 6pm to 8pm at Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 West Washington Avenue, Washington, NJ 07882. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 28, 2022 at 10:00am at St. Theodore's Roman Catholic Church, 855 State Route 57, Port Murray. Burial arrangements will immediately follow at The National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa Cemetery, Doylestown, PA.
