Obituary of Maria Schiano- Dicola
Maria Schiano-Dicola, 92, of Washington, NJ passed away suddenly on January 22, 2022 at Hunterdon Medical Center, Flemington, NJ.
Maria was born on November 28, 1929 in Monte Di Procida, Italy to the late Biagio and Angela Ambrosino.
Maria immigrated to the United States in 1970. She was an experienced cook and used her talents while owning and operating restaurants in multiple states with her husband, Michael. They moved to Washington NJ in 1983 and owned Pizza and Spaghetti House until 1998. She then helped their sons open and run DiCola's Pizza, and built a strong reputation throughout the community. Maria touched the hearts of so many people and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She was known by her warm smile, welcoming everybody that frequented DiCola's Pizza.
Her hearty soups were simply delicious and enjoyed by many during the cold months. When asked what her secret ingredients were she would say "they were made with Love"
She is survived by her loving husband of almost 65 years, Michael and their five children; Lina Mancino and her husband Salvatore, Angela Lubrano and her husband Biagio, Rosaria Schiano- Dicola, Antonio Schiano-Dicola and his wife Angela, and Biagio Schiano- Dicola with companion Agatha Russo. Maria is also survived by her 11 grandchildren, Sal Mancino and wife Nicole, Lisa Segal and husband Martin, Angelo, Maria, Michael, Sal, Michael, Eliana, Biagio, Giada and Vincenzo, and 3 great granddaughters, Lilliana, Daniela and Angela. She also leaves behind her sisters: Giuseppina Iaccarino and Anna Cahill, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Maria is preceded in death by her siblings: Lucia Ambrosino, Rosa Scotto, Michele Ambrosino, Antonietta Palumbo and Antonio Ambrosino.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Sunday, January 30, 2022 from 12pm to 2pm and from 4pm to 7pm at Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 West Washington Avenue, Washington, NJ 07882. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, January 31, 2022 at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, Hampton, NJ at 10:00 am Entombment will immediately follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery and Mausoleum in Annandale NJ.
