Obituary of Elizabeth Hannon
Elizabeth Hannon, 99, of Oxford, N.J., died Sunday, October 8, 2006, in the Care Center of Phillipsburg.
Born: December 19, 1906 in Port Glasgow, Scotland, she was a daughter of the late William and Ann McReynolds.
Personal: She had lived in Oxford, N.J. for the past 20 years. Prior to that, she lived in Morristown, N.J. Her husband, Peter, died in 1978, and a son, William, died in 1968. Elizabeth was a housekeeper for the DuPont and Frelinghuysen families. Elizabeth loved dancing the Highland Fling. She was talented at playing the piano. She enjoyed reading and bird watching. Memberships: Elizabeth was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Washington, N.J.
Survivors: a niece, Ann Hanley, and her husband, Michael, in Scotland, and a cousin, Johanna Lynch, of Oxford, N.J.
Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday in the church, 200 Carlton Ave., Washington, N.J. Father Blaise Baran will officiate. Call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Warren Hills / Ford Memorial Home, 234 West Washington Ave., Washington, N.J. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, N.J.
