Obituary of Matthew Eric Chaplain
Matthew Eric Chaplain, 37, of Scranton, PA passed away tragically in a house fire on January 13, 2021.
Matt was born on January 29, 1983 in Chicago, Il to Dennis and Tonya (Wilson) Chaplain. Matt graduated from Pocono Mountain East High School, class of 2001. He earned his degree in Electronics from ITT Technical Institute. He served proudly in the US Air Force. Matt was employed in the electronics field and could fix just about anything. Along with electronics Matt also loved camping and woodworking. Matt will forever be known for his wit, humor and being devilishly handsome.
Matthew is survived by his parents Dennis and Tonya; Sisters, Amber Chaplain, Tegann Smeal and her husband Brian, Jacqui Chaplain and Sadie Chaplain; Brothers, Timothy Chaplain and his wife Stephanie and Jacob Chaplain; his companion Barbara Siegfried and her mother "G-Ma" and Barbra's daughters Jackie, Justine, Rebecca, Rachel and Bryann and his loving Pitbull Odin. Matthew was preceded in death by a sister Autumn Rose Chaplain.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Tuesday January 19, 2021 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Warren Hills Memorial Home. 234 W. Washington Ave. Washington, NJ 07882. Funeral Services and Entombment will be held on Thursday January 21, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Easton Cemetery 401 North 7th St. Easton, PA 18042. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Matthews name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942, http://www.stjude.org/
