So sad such a talented, smart, fun and active man has left us too soon. But so happy I had the pleasure of knowing him in life. Play your music in the sky, Steve and fly high.

A typical day at work always included Steve popping into our office to share a joke, thought, one of his videos or lending his many talents. While many of his references went above my head, his incredibly sharp wit and his encyclopedic knowledge of all things was truly unbelievable. Watching and listening to Steve play the fiddle throughout the years was always a delight. Steve, your kindness, humor and many talents will be greatly missed.

Without fail, Steve was playful, witty and kind. He will be missed. The world is diminished by his death.

Steve was always on top of world events and had a way of getting people to think about everything using that incredible wit. He would greet me with jokes whenever he came into the office or when we passed in the halls. A talented craftsman, Steve volunteered to make our min/max temperature gauge shelter for the Carol Heaney Nature Trail at a time when he could have been making another dulcimer. In true Steve fashion it turned out to be a work of art. I was first introduced to Steve’s musical talents at Newark Academy when the Watchung Mountain Boys played during a morning meeting - no one wanted to leave the auditorium! This master will surely be missed by all.

Hi Cathy, Shawnee, Winnie, and Family... Steve was so supportive when he and Cathy attended the Harry Leahey Jazz Jamm and then we were so happy to see Steve and Cathy at one of the Friday night Coffee House performances at the Asbury Coffee Mill. Such a gifted man of talent, an intent listener, and so humble. The Memorial at the Blues Museum is so fitting. We are sending love to your family. The photo was taken on January 12, 2021. Always remember the times Steve made you smile, The Doves

Gosh Cathy, I'm very sorry to hear of Stevens passing. I don't think that I ever met him but, if he was smart enough to be your husband that's a pretty good start on being a great person. I would imagine that he's already got a great gig in heaven by now and is playing with some of the greats from this planet. Soon, with fiddle in hand and under his chin he'll be touring some of the other planets in Gods universe. Trust that in God's good time, you, with camera in hand, will be with him again. For now, wrap yourself in a cozy warm quilt that's covered with great memories of the good times from the past and, dream of the great times to come when once again you two will be together. God Bless the two of you and all who grieve this temporary parting.

My heartfelt condolences to Cathy, Shawnee and the rest of the family. Steve was a truly gifted entertainer and I always enjoyed the Shippen Manor concerts when he would roam through the crowd playing his fiddle.
Happy trails to you.
Sincerely,
Karen Stenson
