Obituary of John Van Hoffman Jr
John Van Hoffman Jr. was born June 19, 1927 in High Bridge, NJ to the late John Van Hoffman Sr. and Amy Hazel (nee; Dennis) Hoffman. A resident of Hampton, NJ before retiring and moving to Arkansas. John passed away November 29, 2020 at home in Clinton, AR. Of Presbyterian faith, a Navy Veteran, lifelong carpenter and foreman, member of the New Jersey Carpenters Union #455. John built many hospitals, schools, and homes. He was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing, especially in Canada for Walleye and Pike. John was a pilot and built his own airplanes. John married the love of his life Louise Ella (nee; Henry) Hoffman. Together they celebrated 64 years of marriage prior to her death in 2011.
Survived by one son, John Van Hoffman III and wife Betty of Washington, NJ; three daughters, Bonnie Geraldine Hill and husband Roger of Easton, PA, Susan Jean Spencer and husband Timothy of Clinton, AR, Jane Elizabeth Bresette of Dennard, AR; one sister, Geraldine Struening of New Jersey; eleven grandchildren; and twenty-one great grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, John is preceded in death by 2 brothers, Charles Hoffman and Ronald Hoffman of High Bridge, NJ
