Obituary of Robert J Wise
Robert J. Wise, 78, of Mansfield Township passed away from natural causes on October 25, 2020 at his home.
Bob was born on October 12, 1942 in Quincy, MA to the late Alfred and Anne "Welch" Wise. He was a graduate of the University of Massachusetts and upon graduation taught social studies for several years. After teaching he chose a career in sales, advertising and real estate while he lived in Durham, NC and Portsmouth, RI. He moved to NJ in 1990 and was a school bus operator for Hunterdon County Schools until his retirement in 2009. He adored the children he drove each day and they loved "Mr. Bob".
Bob was an avid life-long New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox fan. His favorite hobbies were reading Robert Frost or Tom Clancy novels, gardening, playing piano, solving crossword puzzles, playing Phase 10 or Scrabble, and watching college and professional football. In the past few years, Bob enjoyed lunches with his friends at the Senior Center in Washington. He loved seafood but his favorite meal was simply a juicy cheeseburger with huge slices of raw onion. Beautiful memories of being together laughing, playing games, eating and making homemade ice cream sundaes are in the hearts of his family.
Bob is survived by his former wife, Rosanne Wise; his step-daughter Julia Horner and her husband Jeff; and his step-son Anthony Cacciarelli and his wife Jennifer and their children.
Bob always enjoyed reading the comics section of the newspaper and below is an excerpt from a Ziggy comic that he gave Julia and she always loved:
"Life can be a real trip! It's a journey full of choices, experiences and new meetings. Sometimes it can throw you so many twists and turns, you can lose your way and sometimes one path ends and we have to turn around and find another. But in all of my travels I've discovered one very important thing about life's journey…where we begin, where we are now and where we end up really doesn't matter. What matters MOST are the loved ones we meet along the way and who make the journey with us!"
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bob's name to the Warren County Meals at Home Program. Since the Senior Center has been closed due to the pandemic, they delivered lunch to Bob at home each day.
