To the Shaffer Family. My sincere condolences for the passing of your Dad. My most cherished memory is that of being in Uncle Ed and Aunt Carol's wedding as a bridesmaid. I am happy I talked to him on the phone just one week before his passing. He is at peace and no more suffering. May the memories you have live forever in your hearts. My deepest sympathy to you all. Dot

To Ed's Family,
I am a member of the Washington Greenstone Methodist Church. Before Ed moved from Washington, he started coming to our church every Friday morning to help Betty Smith and me fold the bulletins for our Sunday church service. He was such a nice man and very faithful to the job. We looked forward to his helping us. I wanted you to know how much we appreciated his help and enjoyed his company.
My thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad time.
Most sincerely,
Patt Warne

To the Shaffer Family: so very sorry for your loss. Ed was a long time family friend. A genuinely good man. May he rest in peace. I bet he and my Grandfather are sharing stories, memories and jokes together! Always thought so kindly of him. He will be missed. - Jessica Leeper (Kopacka) and The Leeper Family

Chris and Barbara, Trish and Charles, I am so very sorry to hear about dad's passing. Please know that Terri and I have him, and all of you in our prayers and thoughts. I always remember your dad to have been a gentle, warm and considerate man. Very funny as well in his own ways! Always very friendly and never a harsh word. Maybe unless some other team happens to beating up on the Yankees!
I will lovingly remember your dad always, and I truly hope his memories and kind spirit give you comfort and a smile on your face for many, many years.
Love you. Tom and Terri
