Obituary of Lawrence F. Brown

Lawrence F. Brown, 83, "Pop Pop" of Washington Township, NJ passed away at Newton Memorial Hospital on August 22, 2020. Larry was born on May 22, 1937 in Elizabeth, NJ to the late Homer and Mary "Widmar" Brown. He graduated from Jefferson High School in Elizabeth class of 1955. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. Larry earned a Bachelor's degree from Ryder University. He was employed for more the 40 years as a salesman for Wilson Jones and later ACCO Inc until his retirement in 1998. His loving wife Betty Lou passed away on December 28, 2019. Larry was a diehard NY Yankees fan. He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Union, NJ and a parishioner of St Rose of Lima church in Oxford. Larry also loved to take numerous car rides and loved his desserts. Larry is survived by a daughter, Linda Thompson and her husband John; a son, Robert Brown and his wife Noreen; 5 grandchildren Kaitlyn, Megan, Kelly, Christy and Sean. And his faithful dog Lulu. Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday August 27, 2020 from 9:30-11:00 AM at the Warren Hills Memorial Home. 234 W. Washington Ave. Washington, NJ 07882. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11:30 AM at St. Rose of Lima Church. 85 Academy St. Oxford, NJ 07863. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Washington, NJ.
