Obituary of Judith "Judy" Boe

Judith Boe, 75, of Washington, NJ, passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2019, having lost her dear husband of nearly 56 years, Sig, 78, back on August 3, 2019. Born in Morristown on August 18, 1944, Judy spent her childhood in Chatham, while Sig was born on March 25, 1941 in Nazi-occupied Norway before emigrating to NJ by boat in 1953. They were high school sweethearts at Chatham High School, where Sig "Boe the Toe" was a star kicker for the football team as well as a celebrated baseball pitcher. Judy was a loving homemaker devoted to the care of her own and many other children - and countless cats - over the years. Judy was known for the delicious meals and baked goods she prepared for every occasion imaginable. Over time Judy suffered many health complications, but none of them could keep her tender heart from giving so much of herself to others. Sig had been a Union Carpenter (Local 254) for more than 50 years, working on a record number of buildings throughout NJ, including Newark Airport on 9/11. A Jack of all trades, Sig could fix just about anything, coach a great game of baseball or football, and make others laugh with his great sense of humor. Judy and Sig loved to share good food, watch Yankee games, and spend time with their family. Judy is predeceased by her father, Robert Price, and survived by her mother, Muriel Price, of Washington, and sister Joyce and husband John Platevoet of Hillman, MI. Sig is predeceased by his parents, Henry and Hortense, of Norway, and survived by his brothers Gustav ("Fred"), Robert, and Jimmy of Chico, CA. Together Judy and Sig leave behind 3 children (Wendy Ranallo of Washington, Eric Boe and partner Barbara Hezel of Great Meadows, and Kristen and husband Dominic Flores of St. Louis, MO), 4 grandchildren (Melinda, Michael Jr., and Megan, children of Wendy and Michael Ranallo, and Arabel Flores, daughter of Kristen and Dominic), and 2 great-grandchildren (Victor Morales, son of Melinda and Elias, and Marcela Gomez, daughter of Megan and Jose), and many other loved ones. Family and friends may pay their respects on Friday November 29, 209 from 4-5:30 PM at the Warren Hills Memorial Home. 234 W. Washington Ave. Washington, NJ 07882. A Memorial Service will be celebrated immediately following at 5:30 PM at the funeral home. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Warren Hills Memorial Home.
