I was saddened to learn of Jo’s passing. I always looked forward to her visits at the bank. She always dressed like she was going to an event. Everything matched from head to toe including her earrings and pocketbook! She was my inspiration. Jo will be sadly missed. My only comfort is knowing she is now at home with our Lord and at peace. Free from her burns. Knowing Jo, she is having many conversations with those who have gone before her. Looking forward to seeing you again. Xoxo

Frank, Diane, and family,
I was so sad to hear about your mom. She always had a smile for everyone. She would always stop me at the Shoprite or drug store and ask about me and my family. She was always dressed so beautifully and was always smiling.
I hope that all of your loving and happy memories help you thru the sad days ahead. I am sure she was smiling as she entered into heaven. Praying that she rests in eternal peace.
My deepest condolences and sympathy to you and your family.

Dear Diane and Frank and extended family, I am SO SORRY and can't stop crying!! Your Mom was just the sweetest woman, and was one of my BEST friends in the whole wide world!! We met in 1993 when I moved to Washington, and I was taking care of my invalid Mom, and was always just getting home from work, but would run into Warren County Pharmacy at 8:55PM when they closed at 9:00PM to get prescriptions for my Mom, and Jo and I would talk for a few minutes until the lights were shut off in the store... After my Mom died in 2000, Jo and I would go everywhere together. We'd eat out, go to movies, shop, take walks, or play cards. We had a lot of good times!! I will never forget that when I turned 50 years old, she bought me supper at Ruby Tuesdays, and gave me a card with a $50 bill in it!! More than my own family gave me!!
Another time, she wanted me to drive her to Lowe's in Phillipsburg, and I wasn't exactly sure where it was and was driving slow. Your Mom thought the strip mall would be on the right side of the road, however I drove slow and she told me to stop, and I did, but there was no store there. Then I happened to see some stores on the left side and turned my blinker on to turn left into the parking lot and moved the car into the left lane. Next thing I know, there's a police man behind me with lights flashing. He asked me what I was doing. I told him we were looking for Lowe's and your Mom thought it was on the right, but now we thought it was on the left... We were confused. Well, he decided he was gonna give me a ticket for impeding traffic or something. Jo piped up and told him 'Officer, please don't give her a ticket, it was my fault'. The cop said to her 'Well you're lucky ma'am that YOU weren't driving!!' Your Mom felt so bad that she bought me a plant in Lowes because she felt so bad I got a ticket!! What a sweetie!!
She was quite a woman. Spunky to the end, rode her exercise bike every day, walked around the neighborhood if the weather was nice, spoke to the neighbors and was so friendly to everyone!!
She loved to cook and eat!! And yet she was this tiny woman, about 95 lbs!! Where did she put it all?
Jo, I will miss our frequent conversations on the phone. I will miss hearing your voice. I now have one less person who is praying for me. You were one of my best friends!! You and my Mom died on the same day!! September 23rd - my Mom in 2000 and you in 2021. In some ways you were a substitute Mom to me. And I will love you forever for that!! I know you were a Christian and are now in Heaven!! Thank God you are no longer suffering from those terrible burns!! You are now in the arms of Jesus!! You had such a beautiful singing voice too - I hope you are singing for Jesus now!! And I hope you have met my Matt again in Heaven and also are reunited with your wonderful Frank again!! RIP Josephine!! Love you forever and will never forget you!! ❤ ❤ ❤ Linda Bateman Mattero

My memories of cousin Josie are all so wonderful. We will miss her phone calls. She never forgot a birthday. She had the best sense of humor, she was one of the most positive people I knew. We love you and you and will miss you terribly. May light perpetual shine upon you. Heaven has certainly gained an angel. Love you forever, Baldo and family.

We had the privilege of calling Jo our neighbor since we moved across the street from her in 2017. She was one of the kindest people I have ever known; always smiling and waving from her garage. She was a lovely woman to converse with and always so generous and welcoming. We will miss her dearly. Our condolences to her family.

Josephine was always dressed to the nines. . . Coordinated every aspect of her outfit. . . But most importantly, she was a friendly and gracious person. I had the privilege of taking her to Mass when vertigo stopped her driving to our church. My prayers go out to her loved ones during this difficult time. God Bless, Mary and Bobby Kovacs
